Welcome back for the first Tip Tuesday of 2018! We hope you enjoyed your New Year’s celebrations.
Today we will briefly go over the geolocation function in your GIS. This tool utilizes GPS to locate your position on the map.
After clicking on your geolocation tool, you will be given the three options as pictured below (find me, track me, or follow me).
Find Me: Places your precise location on the map
Track Me: Tracks your location on the map as you move
Follow Me: Tracks your location on the map as you move but at a slightly offset position
This tool can be especially helpful to those working out in the field with tablets or other handheld devices.
Also, please feel free to peruse our GIS Blog (updated weekly). There are plenty of posts to view which provide information on the functionality of various tools within your GIS.
Thank you for stopping by. As always, we hope that if you did not already know this information it will be helpful in the future!
