Sometimes less is more. This definitely proves to be true when it comes to how many times your mouse clicks in a day. We have a few tips here that will show you how to use a few less clicks while using your GIS, allowing for a smoother flow.
Identify: Simply clicking or tapping on a feature will often yield a small and convenient pop-up called a Map Tip. These are useful for getting at-a-glance information from the map without having to click through the regular identify tools. If multiple features are found, they will show up in the dropdown list that can be seen below.
Zooming In/Out: Use the scroll wheel on your mouse or use the pinch/unpinch gesture on your tablet instead of the zoom in/out buttons on the toolbar.
Panning: Instead of using the Pan toolbar button, click (or tap on a tablet) and drag the map into place. The only catch here is that you can’t have any other tools selected. If you do have a tool selected, click it again to deselect it, and then resume panning.
