Pictometry images are very useful especially in allowing for measurements and data extraction. The pictometry tools make it easy to view and analyze the images and information.
To access the tool, click on the Pictometry button located on the home tab on your toolbar.
Clicking this button will bring up the tool which will split your screen in two, displaying an aerial view as well as the pictometry image of the location of the marker. This makes it simple to navigate the tool and find the best view for your needs. If you would like to view the pictometry in a single tab, you can do so by clicking the Open New Window button located on the right hand side of the bottom screen.
The pictometry tools provides a view that allows you to analyze different things such as the height of a building, which would not be accessible through a regular aerial view.
With this tool you can analyze more than just height; you can also analyze: area, elevation, bearings, and more. All these tools can be accessed by clicking the tool button located on the top of the screen as shown.
The following image is an example of the multiple tools that can be used to analyze an object such as a building.
