On Friday, February 26th, beginning at 5:00p.m., we will be performing server hardware upgrades. GIS applications may be unavailable during the upgrade, which is expected to take most of the evening. GIS may be periodically unavailable throughout the weekend of February 26th while making finishing touches.
Over the last few months, we’ve been moving databases and map processing servers to new hardware (hosted at Amazon Web Services). You probably remember the day where we moved your database because we worked with you to schedule a day of down-time. The last servers that we’re upgrading in this series of upgrades are the ones that host your tools and map interface, which will be moved to new hardware by the end of the night on Friday.
After this Friday, all of our GIS servers will be brand-new in a preemptive move to keep up with the ever increasing use of the GIS applications we host. The new servers are more expandable and more customizable, so we can experiment and tweak to continue to provide you with the latest and greatest technology available.
As always, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if you would like more information or have any concerns. We love hearing from you!
