It’s a bird… it’s a plane… it’s Zoom to Feature!
If you’ve ever seen someone flying through their GIS and thought “I wish I could do that”, you’re in the right place to learn. This week we’ll talk briefly about how to quickly zoom to a feature that you have in the results panel (below).
The results panel can be populated with results in many ways, but for the sake of this tutorial we used the Identify Tool to get a few parcels.
To get a better look at the first parcel, click anywhere in the light blue area in the image above. Doing so will zoom to the feature, highlight it, and show you additional results. There you go, you zoomed to a feature! The final result of this is shown below.
So there you have it. You’re one step closer to being faster than a speeding server, more powerful than a paper map, and able to leap many parcels in a single bound!
