Yesterday, 11/18, was World GIS Day. Across the globe, schools, businesses and governments held conferences and gatherings celebrating GIS technology.
R/M celebrated by hosting a GIS User Group in our Global Water Center office.
Our staff went over useful tools, like the cemetery tool and the buffering tools, to help representatives from Milwaukee-area municipalities learn how to use GIS to its fullest capacity to track their infrastructure and help their communities. With the many tools and capabilities, GIS can seem overwhelming. That’s why having staff walk you through your GIS program and answer any questions you have can help you feel confident in your GIS usage. Municipalities represented include Germantown, Port Washington, Greenfield, and more.
We’ll be having more GIS user groups throughout the next year, including ones in our Madison and Illinois offices. Keep your eyes open for those announcements!
